As a LastPass Free user, can I still export my vault data if I select Mobile as my active device type?

    LastPass Free users can still export their vault data from a computer, even if they have selected Mobile as their active device type.

    After the third and final device type switch, LastPass Free users can still log in to their restricted vault on a computer and export their vault data.

    Attention: Currently, there are two different extension menu experiences, so instructions may differ depending on your navigational experience. The "new experience" applies to version 4.104.0 and newer for the LastPass browser extension, whereas the "previous experience" refers to version 4.103.0 and earlier.
    Important: If you choose to contact LastPass Support by selecting Contact Support within this article, your case submission is solely for assistance with exporting your vault data if the steps in this article were unsuccessful. All other queries or escalations sent to LastPass using this article's case submission form will not be addressed.

    Export using the LastPass browser extension

    Before you begin: Select Dismiss or close out of the "0 device switches left" messaging, if applicable.
    1. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive (grey or black) LastPass icon inactive LastPass icon.
    2. Enter your email address and master password, then click Log In.
    3. If prompted, complete steps for multifactor authentication (if it is enabled on your account).
    4. Click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon in your browser toolbar.
    5. Take the action that matches your navigational experience:
      • New experience – Select the Account tab, then go to Fix a problem yourself > Export vault items.
      • Previous experience – Select Account Options OR < your username > at the bottom of the menu, then go to Advanced > Export.
    6. If prompted, enter your master password and select Continue.
    Results: A CSV file containing your vault data is downloaded, and your vault data has been successfully exported from your non-active device type.
    Important: If you decide to make changes to the exported CSV file, you must use lowercase text for all column headers.

    Export from within your vault

    Before you begin: Select Dismiss or close out of the "0 device switches left" messaging, if applicable.
    1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
      • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Vault or Open My Vault.
      • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
    2. Select Advanced Options > Export in the left navigation.

      Result: An email notification has been sent to your LastPass email address for verification.

    3. Check your inbox for a "Verify export" message, then select Continue export in the email to verify.
      Note: The verification link expires after 10 minutes.
    4. Return to your vault, then go to Advanced Options > Export again.
    5. If prompted, enter your master password and select Submit.
    Results: A CSV file containing your vault data is downloaded, and your vault data has been successfully exported from your non-active device type.
    Important: If you decide to make changes to the exported CSV file, you must use lowercase text for all column headers.
