How do I change my email address for LastPass?

    You can change the email address that is associated with your LastPass account, and if needed, send test emails to verify you can receive LastPass emails.

    How to change your email address

    You can update your LastPass account email address from within your Account Settings in your vault.

      Update your email address.

      1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
        • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Vault or Open My Vault.
        • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
      2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
      3. Under Login Credentials, enter your new email address in the Account Email field.
      4. Optional: If desired, select Send Test Email > OK to verify that emails can be received from LastPass at your new email address's inbox before you update.

      Verify access to your current email address.

      1. When ready, select Update > Send Verification Email.

        Result: You are sent a verification link to your current email address (also specified in the prompt).

      2. Check the inbox of your current email address for a "LastPass Verification Email" message, then click the verification link. This will confirm you have access to your current email address.

      Verify access to your new email address.

      1. Return to your LastPass vault. With your new email address still listed (from Step #3 above), select Update.

        Result: A verification code has been sent to your new email address.

      2. Check the inbox of your new email address for a "Verify your LastPass email address" message, then copy the verification code in the email.

      3. Return to your LastPass vault and paste the code into the prompt, then click Confirm.

      4. Enter your master password, then click Confirm.

        Result: Your LastPass vault is re-encrypted to save the changes for your updated email address.

      5. Click OK when prompted.
    Results: Your LastPass email address has been successfully updated, and you are now logged out of LastPass.
    What to do next: Log back in to LastPass to using your new email address.

    How to send a test email

    You can send yourself a test email just to check if your current email address is receiving emails from LastPass.

    1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
      • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Vault or Open My Vault.
      • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
    2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
    3. Under Login Credentials, select Send Test Email > OK.
    4. Check the inbox of your new email address for a "LastPass Verification Email" message.
    Results: You have confirmed that you can receive verification emails from LastPass at your new email address.
    If you don't receive a verification email from LastPass, check your spam and junk mail folders, and be sure the following email addresses have been added to your allowlist:
    • support-replies@logmein.com
    • do-not-reply-support@lastpass.com
    • support@lastpass.com
    Note: If you use Hotmail or Outlook.com as your email service provider, please be sure to add the email addresses above to your allowlist.
