Disable or remove LastPass Universal Proxy v4.x
To disable or remove your version of the LastPass Universal Proxy software, you have the option of either stopping the Windows service or uninstalling it.
Disabling LastPass Universal Proxy temporarily
Configure the Windows service for LastPass Universal Proxy as follows:
- In the Services window, find the LastPass Universal Proxy service.
- Double-click the service and click the Stop button. Click Apply. Click OK. The Status must be listed as Stopped,
- Change the Startup Type to Disable or Manual. In case the server must reboot, the LastPass Universal Proxy service will not start or should be started manually.
- Reconfigure your VPN server: you have to update your VPN server to not to delegate authentication requests to Universal Proxy anymore.
Removing LastPass Universal Proxy permanently
- Uninstall the current version of LastPass Universal Proxy.
- The uninstall process may leave files and folders in the base installation directory. Go to the base installation folder and delete all the folders and files found in it manually to do a complete clean-up.
- Follow the instructions in Remove MFA Apps for LastPass users to remove LastPass Universal Proxy.
- Reconfigure your VPN server: you have to update your VPN server to not to delegate authentication requests to Universal Proxy anymore.
