How do I disable passwordless login for my vault?

You can disable passwordless login for your vault, which will require you to manually enter your master password when logging in to LastPass.

CAUTION: Passwordless login for your vault will become disabled if you change your master password or revert to a previous master password. However, disabling passwordless login for your vault does not also disable the LastPass Authenticator app as your enabled multifactor option; if desired, you can choose to disable it separately.

Disable passwordless login but keep the LastPass Authenticator app enabled

To disable passwordless login, you can delete all devices from the Passwordless Options tab of your Account Settings, which will keep the LastPass Authenticator app enabled as your multifactor authentication option to continue to protect your vault for standard vault logins.
    1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
      • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Open My Vault.
      • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
    2. Select Account Settings in the left navigation.
    3. Select the Passwordless Options tab.

Your passwordless login enabled devices are listed (including the status of your current device, the browser, OS, and enable date for each device).

    5. Repeat Step #4 for every device until there are no devices listed.

Results: You have deleted all passwordless login devices listed, and passwordless login for your vault is disabled. You are required to enter your master password when you log in to LastPass from all devices going forward.

Disable passwordless login and disable the LastPass Authenticator app

You can disable passwordless login to your vault and disable the LastPass Authenticator app as your multifactor option for your vault from the Multifactor Options tab of your Account Settings.

    3. Select the Multifactor Options tab.
    4. Click the Edit icon Edit option for the LastPass Authenticator.
    5. For the Enabled option, select No from the drop-down menu.
    6. Select Update.
    7. When prompted, enter your master password then select Continue > OK.
Results: As a result, the following has happened:
    • Passwordless login for your vault is disabled, which means you are required to enter your master password when you log in to LastPass from all devices going forward.
    • All passwordless login devices listed have been deleted from the Passwordless Options tab of your Account Settings.
    • The LastPass Authenticator app is disabled and no longer protecting your vault as your multifactor option.
