How do I enable dark web monitoring in LastPass?

    To begin using dark web monitoring, you must enable monitoring from the Security Dashboard of your LastPass vault. Enabling this feature will begin checking all of the email addresses stored in your vault against data breaches.

    Notice: In addition to providing real-time monitoring of your email addresses, LastPass retroactively checks against breaches for up to one year prior to the date that dark web monitoring becomes enabled (only once, at the time of sign-up).
    Tip: Are you a LastPass admin for a LastPass Business account? You can manage the "Control dark web monitoring" policy and its settings for your end users.
    Remember: Once enabled, dark web monitoring is an always-on feature. Please note that only 100 email addresses are monitored.
    Restriction: If you have a LastPass Teams or LastPass Business account, the ability to perform these actions may be limited or prohibited due to policies enabled by your LastPass admin.
    1. Log in and access the LastPass Security Dashboard by doing either of the following:
      • While logged in to LastPass, click the active LastPass icon active LastPass icon in your web browser toolbar, then select Security Dashboard in the menu.
      • Log in at with your email address and master password, then select Security Dashboard in the left navigation.
    2. In the Dark Web Monitoring pane, click Start Monitoring.
      Note: A hashed version of your email addresses will be monitored and will not be used for any purpose other than monitoring for security breaches.

    Results: You have now enabled dark web monitoring, and all of the email addresses stored in your vault will be checked against data security breaches.
    What to do next: You can start, stop, or add new email addresses that you would like to have monitored.
