How do I generate sharing keys for LastPass?

    LastPass uses sharing keys to allow users to securely share items from their vault with others.

    About this task:

    Sharing keys are automatically generated when you log in using the LastPass web browser extension. If you are unable to log in using the LastPass browser extension, you can log in to your online vault and generate the sharing keys.

    Log in to LastPass and generate sharing keys from the LastPass web browser extension or online web vault by doing either of the following:

    1. Install the LastPass browser extension (go to the LastPass downloads page and click Download for your desired extension, or click Quick Install).
    2. In your web browser toolbar, click the inactive LastPass icon inactive LastPass icon.
    3. Enter your email address and your LastPass master password, then click Log In.

    An active LastPass icon active LastPass icon is now displayed in your toolbar to indicate a successful login.
    LastPass website (online web vault)
    1. Log in to LastPass at https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 with your email address and master password.
    2. Select Advanced Options in the left navigation.
    3. Click Generate Sharing Keys, then click Generate.
      Note: If the Generate Sharing Keys option is missing from the Advanced Options menu, it means you have already generated your sharing keys.
    4. Log out of your LastPass account, then log back in.
    Results: Your sharing keys are now active.
