How do I import a LastPass CSV file that was exported from LastPass?

You can import your LastPass vault data that you exported as a LastPass CSV file (non-encrypted).

Tip: Looking to import a LastPass Encrypted file instead? See How do I import a LastPass Encrypted file that was exported from LastPass?
Attention: Importing directly into a shared folder is not supported. This means that all items will be imported as items within standard folders.

    Import using the new experience

The new import experience takes place on the same browser tab of your LastPass vault.

Before you begin: Export your vault data from LastPass (see instructions here and here).
    1. Log in to LastPass and access the Import page by doing either of the following:

    3. Under Upload the exported file to LastPass, choose from the following:
      • Drag and drop the CSV file exported from LastPass.
      • Select browse your computer. Browse for the LastPass CSV file on your computer, select it and click Open.

Your vault displays the items found in the LastPass CSV file.

Troubleshooting: If incomplete items are detected (entries are missing a username, password, and/or URL), select next to the affected item (under the Data Status column), then enter the missing information and select Save.

    4. By default, all items are selected for import. If desired, make the following changes:
      • De-select items you don't want to import.
      • If you want to create duplicate items (by importing items with the same username, password, and URL that already exist in your vault), enable the Select all duplicates setting at the bottom of the list.
    5. Select Import All.
