How do I log in to Windows using LastPass Workstation Login?

    Once you have completed the setup of LastPass Workstation Login for Windows, you can use the LastPass Authenticator app's stored biometrics or PIN Code (if biometrics aren't available) to log in to your Windows workstation – no password required!

    Restriction: This feature might not be available for your account as this is a legacy feature.

    Alternatively, you can log in using a One Time Password (instructions below), which is generated within the LastPass Authenticator app on your registered device (if policies permit you to do so), or you can log in as usual with your username and password for your Windows account.

    Remember: If you change your Windows user account password, you will be required to log in with your Windows username and password to authenticate at least once before you are able to log in using the LastPass Authenticator app again.

    Log in using a push notification

    Your mobile device must be online (connected to the Internet) in order to use this login method.

    1. On your mobile device, open the LastPass Authenticator app.
    2. On your workstation, click to select LastPass as your sign-in option.
    3. Your Windows username is pre-populated for you – proceed to log in to Windows.
    4. On your mobile device, tap or select Accept when prompted.
    5. Verify your identity using stored biometrics (face recognition or fingerprint identification, or PIN Code if biometrics aren't available) on the app.

    Log in using a One Time Password (OTP)

    You can log in to your Windows workstation using a One Time Password generated from the LastPass Authenticator app, which is a login method that can be used if your computer is offline.

    Restriction: In order for you to access your workstation in offline mode, your LastPass Business must assign you to a Workstation Login policy that allows offline access.
    1. On your workstation, click to select LastPass as your sign-in option.
    2. Check the box for the Log in with password or One Time Password option.
    3. On your mobile device, open the LastPass Authenticator app and locate the 8-digit alphanumeric One Time Password displayed for your Windows workstation.
    4. Back on your workstation, enter your One Time Password into the field and proceed to log in.
      Important: This is case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as shown.
