LastPass for Internet Explorer 11 (no longer supported)

Microsoft will end support of Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) on June 15, 2022. As a result, please review (below) important information about the LastPass browser extension for IE 11 which will no longer be supported for the IE 11 web browser.

    What is happening, and when?

Microsoft announced that starting June 15, 2022, they will end support of the Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) web browser and will no longer provide security updates to maintain it. As a result, as of June 15, 2022, the LastPass browser extension for IE 11 will no longer be supported. While the extension may continue to function during a short grace period after June 15, 2022, functionality may end at any time after the end-of-life support date. Therefore, LastPass strongly recommends that all users transition to a supported browser as soon as possible and prior to June 15, 2022.

    Why is this happening?

At LastPass, we are committed to providing the best-in-class security to help keep your digital life organized and secure. For this reason, we cannot continue to support applications that are no longer receiving the latest security updates, and therefore we are discontinuing support for the LastPass browser extension for IE 11 as of June 15, 2022.

    How does this impact me?

After June 15, 2022, the LastPass browser extension for IE 11 may continue to function for a short grace period. However, troubleshooting and support from LastPass will no longer be provided, and new bugs or issues reported for this extension will not be addressed.

For this reason, we at LastPass recommend that you access your LastPass vault by logging in using a supported LastPass browser extension on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, and/or Opera going forward. You can also access your LastPass vault via the LastPass website, LastPass mobile apps for iOS or Android, or LastPass desktop application for Windows.
Remember: No LastPass vault data will be affected due to these changes; you can continue to access LastPass using any of our supported web browser extensions, mobile apps, and/or desktop application.

As a LastPass user, what actions do I need to take?

In order to optimize both your security and user experience with LastPass, you can continue to access LastPass using any of the supported alternative options:
