Some of my passwords and vault items are missing! How do I get them back?

    If you log in to your LastPass vault and notice that some of your stored passwords and vault items are missing, there are a few things you can do to get them back.

    Attention: Currently, there are two different extension menu experiences, so instructions may differ depending on your navigational experience. The "new experience" applies to version 4.104.0 and newer for the LastPass browser extension, whereas the "previous experience" refers to version 4.103.0 and earlier.

    Check that you are using the right Identity

    If you have created Identities for your LastPass vault, you may have selected an Identity that does not contain your stored item.

    You can check by doing either of the following:

    LastPass browser extension (new experience) Accessing your Identities is only accessible from within your online web vault. See instructions for LastPass website below.
    LastPass browser extension (previous experience)
    1. In your web browser toolbar, click the active LastPass icon .
    2. Select Account Options OR < your LastPass email address > at the bottom of the menu, then select Identities.
    3. Select your desired Identity or select All.
    4. Search for the vault item again.

    1. Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
    2. Use the drop-down menu to select your desired Identity or click All.
    3. Search for the vault item again.

    Results: You should now be able to locate your stored vault item.

    Check your deleted items

    If you have deleted the item, you can check in your deleted items repository and restore if needed.

    1. Log in to LastPass and access your vault by doing either of the following:
      • In your web browser toolbar, click the LastPass icon active LastPass icon and select Vault or Open My Vault.
      • Go to https://lastpass.com/?ac=1 and log in with your email address and master password.
    2. Select Advanced Options in the left navigation.
    3. Select View deleted items.
      • For a single item, locate your deleted item, then click the Restore icon .
      • For multiple items, hover over each item and check the box in the upper-right hand corner to select it, then use the Actions drop-down menu and select Restore.
    4. When prompted, click Yes.
    Results: You have now restored your vault item(s) and can use them again.

    Refresh your vault

    If you only recently saved the item and LastPass hasn't been refreshed, you can clear your local cache then refresh your vault.

    1. While logged in to LastPass, click the active LastPass icon in your toolbar.
    2. Take the action that matches your navigational experience:
      • New experience – Select the Account tab, then select Fix a problem yourself > Refresh your vault.
      • Previous experience – Select Account Options OR < your username > at the bottom of the menu, then select Advanced > Refresh Sites.
    Results: Your vault data is synced, and you can now locate your desired vault item.
