Use the LastPass browser extension
Once you have installed the LastPass browser extension, you can use it for all of your password management needs. You can fill your credentials and data for matching websites, search within your vault, view recently accessed vault items, and manage your favorites. You can also access your vault, add new items, generate secure passwords, manage account options, and much more.
Fill stored data for matching sites (use autofill)
When logging on to a website, the most closely matched login credentials are automatically filled in for you. To select a different username and password you have stored, you can click the active LastPass icon in your web browser toolbar to select within the extension menu, or use the active in-field LastPass icon
in the login fields to make your selection. Learn more.

Fill login info (new experience)
Search your vault
Use the Search field to look up specific username/passwords, notes, and items that you've already stored in your vault.
Manage your vault items (new experience)

Manage your vault items (previous experience)
For password entries, you can:
- Fill your username and password for the website you're currently visiting
- Launch the website associated with your credentials (if you are not currently visiting that website)
- Copy each field individually
- Edit any fields that need updating
For note entries, you can:
- Edit any fields that need updating
For all other item entries (addresses, payment cards, driver's licenses, etc.), you can:
- Fill item details on the applicable websites
- Copy each field individually
- Edit any fields that need updating

View all relevant/fillable items
In the new experience, navigate to your desired site and all login credentials matching the page you are visiting will appear on the All relevant tab.
Search vault via the extension menu (new experience)

In the previous experience, if there are more than three sets of credentials for a site you are visiting, you can select the View All Fillable Items menu then select your desired set.
Open your vault
Select Vault (new experience) or Open My Vault (previous experience) to view all of the items (passwords, notes, addresses, payment cards, etc.) that you have stored in your LastPass account in a new web browser tab.
Access your Favorites
You can select Favorites to view, fill, copy, and edit the vault items that you have marked as your Favorites in your vault.
View your recently used items
In the new experience, select the Recents tab to view the last ten (10) items you accessed in LastPass.

In the previous experience, select Recently Used to view the last ten (10) items you accessed in LastPass; you can manage the list size in your LastPass browser extension preferences by going to Account Options or < your email address> then select and managing the Length of list of recently used sites setting.
View all items
In the new experience, you can view all vault items by selecting Vault to open your vault. Otherwise, if the item is relevant (to the page you're visiting), a Favorite, or has recently been accessed, you can access it from the All relevant, Favorites, or Recents tabs, respectively.
Vault menu (new experience)

In the previous experience, select All items to navigate through your stored credentials and data via item categories (passwords, notes, addresses, etc.). This is the same view as the left navigation of your LastPass vault.
Add a new item
In the new experience, to add a new item to your vault, select , then select Add password. Fill in as much information as desired, then click Add password.

In the previous experience, to add a new item to your vault, select Add item then select an item category that matches with the data you want to store. Fill in as much information as desired, then click Save.

Generate a secure password
In the new experience, select the Generator tab in the extension menu, then customize your desired settings for creating new passwords.

In the previous experience, select Generate Secure Password from the extension menu, then customize your desired settings for creating new passwords.

Access the Security Dashboard
In the new experience, select the Alerts at the bottom of the extension menu, then select either Open Security Dashboard or Protect yourself.

In the previous experience, select the active LastPass icon then select Security Dashboard.
Once selected, your vault opens and you are taken directly to your Security Dashboard, where you can view your security score. If you have purchased LastPass Premium or above, you can also view your dark web monitoring alerts.
Manage your account
In the new experience, select Account at the bottom of the extension menu, then choose from the following options:

Account menu (new experience)

In the previous experience, select Account Options (or your LastPass email address) to access your vault Identities, Favorites, and Extension Preferences. You can also select Support Center to view help content and videos to learn how to use LastPass.
The following Advanced options are also available:
- Refresh Sites forces recently made changes to be manually synced.
- Clear Local Cache removes any locally stored files from your active LastPass session, and is recommended to be used when using a public computer.
- Other Sessions displays all of your active LastPass sessions
- Import allows you to import passwords from other sources
- Export allows you to export your stored passwords and data
- Print allows you to view your sites and secure notes and print out a copy for your records
Log out of LastPass
You can log out of your LastPass account at any time by selecting Log Out.
