Install and log in to the LastPass browser extension

For the most seamless experience, it is highly recommended that you install and log in to the LastPass browser extension, which can be used for all of your password management needs without ever having to navigate away from the website you're visiting.

Restriction: LastPass is not supported on sites that run in IE mode.
Note: If your LastPass admin has set up your LastPass Business account so that you use your Active Directory credentials to log in to LastPass (that is, federated login using AD FS, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, PingOne, PingFederate, or OneLogin), see Access LastPass using federated login for detailed login instructions.

Install and log in to the LastPass browser extension by doing the following:
    1. Go to the LastPass downloads page.
    2. Select Download for your desired web browser extension, or click Quick Install if you are actively using your desired web browser.
    3. In your browser toolbar, select the inactive LastPass icon inactive LastPass icon.
    4. Enter your email address and master password, then select Log In.

Troubleshooting: If your company has set up federated login for your LastPass account, the master password field will disappear, and you will be prompted to select Log in and be redirected to your company's federated login sign-in page. View detailed instructions here.

    5. If multifactor authentication is enabled on your account, follow the prompts to authenticate, which will vary depending on how multifactor authentication is configured for your account (for example, push notification + face or fingerprint, time-based one-time password (TOTP), SMS passcode, phone call, and so on). If desired, you can also enable the setting to trust the device for 30 days.

Tip: If you have multiple authentication methods enabled for your account, you can choose a different authentication method by selecting Additional Multifactor Options (on desktop) or tapping Use Alternate Multifactor (on mobile). If this option is not available, you may be part of a company account that has disallowed this setting through policy. Learn more about enabling multiple authentication methods.

Results: An active LastPass icon active LastPass icon is now displayed in your browser toolbar to indicate you are successfully logged in to LastPass.
